This is the preparation for cooking Katsuo-no-tataki (lightly grilled bonito).
My father bought the bonito from the fish market on Mother’s day.
Bonito tastes good as sashimi but also lightly grilled bonito with condiments
(such as shiso, garlic, ginger and so on) is also delicious.
Grilling over the fire.
The grilling over the fire made a delicious smell.
Firstly the skin side was grilled and then the meat side.
Dinner was ready.
“Katsuo-no-tataki” is the second dish from back.
Middle dish is bonito sashimi.
The bonito was fatty so both dishes were delicious.
Every Saturday and Sunday our family have dinner with our grand parents.
The dinner of the day was also very enjoyable.
Dinner is finished.
All the sashimi has gone.
We do not have many opportunities to eat sashimi.
So when we have a sashimi at dinner, we usually are very focused on finishing it.
But this day there was a lot of sashimi.
I was surprised some sashimi was still left on the plate even though I was so full.
