3/11 KIDS' PHOTO JOURNAL - 2015 POSTCARD BOOK IS READY TO ORDER!
3/11 Kids’ Photo Journal (KPJ) is a photography project for and by the children affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami that devastated Japan on March 11, 2011. This project, which involves children from the worst affected areas, documents the recovery and reconstruction efforts of not only their hometowns but their lives. We started this project in June, 2011 and have been issuing publications such as books and newsprints every year to share the voices of these children.
This year, we are issuing its fourth publication 'Postcard Book' whereby, each page can be used as a postcard. We hope, that after reading the book, you will actually send the postcards to somebody you care about so that the children's thoughts will be circulated far and wide.
All proceeds from the 3/11 Kids' Photo Journal 2015 Postcard Book sales will go towards supporting our 2015 activities.

About 3/11 Kids' Photo Journal
Working tirelessly to give these children a voice is the project founder and freelance photo consultant Yumi Goto. Along with a team of professional photographers, writers, and various other volunteers they have put together a 2015 Postcard Book.
This consists of photographs and journal extracts from the 16 children aged between 10 and 19 years old from across Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures. These children have been taking photographs, writing about the progress of the recovery in their hometowns, and as a result, giving an insight into their daily lives and how much has changed for them since the tragic events four years ago. They express the reality of life in the affected areas from their own points of view, which are motivated by a strong desire to share these with the rest of the world. The book '3/11 Kids' Photo Journal' was published by Kodansha in 2012, and we self-published the newsprints of three prefectures in 2013 as well as the weekly planner in 2014.
You can check the children's photographs and journal extracts via this website which is regularly updated both in Japanese and English with photo exhibitions held in Japan and overseas.
