This is a goya (bitter melon) before summer holiday.

To make some shade against the strong summer sun, my father suggested us to make

a ‘green curtain’.

We together planted goya as well as cucumber and okra.

Unfortunately the cucumbers did not survive but the okra grows huge.

Okra was so delicious but I wanted to taste cucumber too.

This is the garden of my grandparents on 30th July.

For KPJ activity I went to the garden to take the photo.

There were many crops such as Morocco kidney beans and satoimo (taro).

My grandmother was showing the crops to Yumi.

Afterwards Yumi told me “We will have the best crops of Morocco kidney beans.

And this year’s rookie is ‘Okawakame’. ”

And she said that they are going to plant Chinese cabbage and Daikon in the area

my grandfather and I harvested potatoes during summer holiday.
